Birutė Zokaitytė (b. 1968) grew up in Vilnius, and studied graphic art from 1987 to 1995 at Vilnius Academy of Art. She belongs to the generation of graphic artists from the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries who approach art from a feminist point of view. She likes to play with traditional educational pictures, such as maps and illustrated writings by Renaissance scholars, in order to convey information that is tainted by her own subjective and ironic reflections.
