Author: Michał Dobriak (1904–2001)

Michał Dobriak (1904–2001), a graduate of Stephen Batory University, having completed his art studies in Vilnius, he returned to his native Kalisz, and worked as an artist in the Müller Brothers’ textile factory. In 1939 he returned to Vilnius, together with the remnants of the defeated Polish army, but did not stay long, and in 1940 he went back to Kalisz. He lived there until his death, and often shared his reminiscences of Vilnius, the city of his student years, and of important figures in his career.
