Leonardas Kazokas was a painter and teacher. He was born on 27 July 1905 in Kaunas. Between 1922 and 1929 he attended art school in Kaunas and finished J. Vienožinskis’ painting studio. He began to participate in exhibitions in 1929. He was a member and chairman of the Independent Artists’ Society. In 1930 he left for Paris for further studies. In 1934–1939 he returned to Kaunas and taught drawing at the Third Gymnasium of Kaunas. In 1940–1941 he lectured in Vilnius and in 1944–1951 at the Kaunas Institute of Applied Art. During his summer holidays he travelled: in 1934–1938 he visited Sweden, Norway, Belgium, France, England and the Konigsberg District. In 1951–1961 he worked as an artist at the Dailė art factory in Kaunas. He died on 15 August 1981 in Kaunas.
