The Scottish artist Frederick Art hur Farr ell (1882–1935) studied civil engineering in London, and learned engraving from the famous Muirhead Bone, who influenced his style. Farrell lived in Glasgow, and made watercolours and engravings, and regularly showed works in exhibitions in the Glasgow School of Art. He travelled a lot around European cities, and painted topographical views of London, Paris and Venice that are distinguished by their traditional realistic expression, subtle engraving and fine lines.
