The Polish painter Tadeusz Nartowski (1892–1971) took lessons in watercolour painting from Leon Wyczólkowski, Ferdynand Ruszczyc and Kazimierz Stabrowski at Warsaw Academy of Art. He taught at the Academy, where he was renowned as a watercolourist. He travelled to Italy, England, France, Spain, Germany, Hungary and Morocco during the 1920s, and painted landscapes. Around 3,000 of his watercolours were destroyed in fires during the Second World War.
