"Atlas Universel..." title-page engraving

Author: Paolo Santini (1729–1793)

Paolo Santini (1729–1793), a publisher from Venice, whose brother Francois (Francesco) Santini was a publisher in Paris, somehow acquired the printing plates of an atlas produced by the Vaugondy family and in 1776 reissued it in his own name. The following year, P. Santini assigned all his publication rights to M. Remondini, who in 1777 reissued the same atlas but with his own name.
