Thomas Kitchin (1718–1784) was a publisher and an engraver of the highest ability who worked for various London periodicals. He also produced books on a variety of subjects including topographical works. T. Kitchin produced a large number of maps of every kind for periodicals such as The London Magazine, The Gentleman’s Magazine and for books on history and antiquities. He is probably best known though, for his partnership with Emanuel Bowen with whom he published The Large English Atlas in 1755.
