Cornelis Ploos van Amstel (1726–1798) was a Dutch timber merchant, collector, printmaker, print publisher and draughtsman. Jacob Ploos van Amstel perfected a method of reproducing paintings that was never revealed to others, and when he died in 1798, he took those secrets with him.
