Cz. Znamierowski was an artist who matured in the early 20th century. It is therefore natural that the works he created in the second half of the 20th century resemble those shown at the first exhibitions of Lithuanian art (including pictures by P. Kalpokas and A. Žmuidzinavičius). He lived a long life, but his artistic direction did not change much, except in the improvement of his skill. Znamierowski’s postwar work is distinguished by landscapes, but his best landscapes are intimate pictures of quiet places in which he focused on the movement of the space. He liked early springtime most of all: the waking up of nature after its winter stagnation. He not only painted nature with love, but he also instilled his own nostalgia in his landscapes.
