This picture recalls the landscapes of Višakio Rūda (the home of the artist’s mother), but the newer pictures are more constructional. Previously, the compositions were formed by the vital rhythms of nature; natural objects were made of rounded shapes. Later, straight lines and strict boundaries of patches of colour prevailed, except that the style of painting was more spontaneous, lively and expressive. The influence of various styles and trends of American art can be felt.
