This is one of the works from his earlier period, showing how well Rimša had learned the lessons of colouring, and how he felt the spirit of Indians in the mountains and the jungle, and the harmony of their colours, consisting of green tones with touches of red. The expressive manner of painting, the skilful brushstrokes and the feeling of the rhythms of mountain flora fill this simple motif with vital strength and spirituality.
