Everything that L. Tuleikis has painted, whether it is a landscape, a still life or a composition, is grave, and sometimes even dramatic. The pictures are painted to the maximum extent: there is hardly a single point to rest the eyes on. He has always appreciated the traditions and manifestations of folk culture, but he is also very familiar with Classical and modern Western art, which he first appreciated at the beginning of his career, when he spent almost a year studying in Italy. Tuleikis understood early the danger of cosmopolitan tendencies in art, and in his paintings he aspires to reveal the lively spirit of the Lithuanian countryside, and never abandons the traditional form of the picture.
