Savickas improvises bravely on a windy day by the sea, and exploits the possibilities for colour to achieve expressiveness. The dark, heavy clouds in a red sky have a very threatening appearance. The dark and stormy sea is painted in rich colours: the sea even seems to be pushed down by the sky. Only the figures of children, painted by the artist’s confident hand in a playful way, form a quiet counterbalance to the dramatic elements.
