In 1928, Kaliszczak made several separate smaller prints of views of Vilnius, in different techniques, which were not included in ‘Vilnius in Ebonite’. In these works, he examined the specific artistic expression of different printmaking techniques: the colour xylography sheets are decorative, with broad generalised forms, the dry-point engravings are clear and soft, while the ebonite prints are dark and full of mysterious chiaroscuro.
