The year of the painting is unknown – it might be 1941, when the artist was painting boats in the port of Klaipėda, or even later – when he lived abroad. The very simple motif is painted using a narrow range of greyish, greenish, bluish and brown colours. The picture reveals a lyrical and melancholic mood.
