J. Mackevičius visited Positano – a resort in Southern Italy, not far from Sorrento. There he painted a church and a belfry, some coastal views, a public road, the staircase, backstreets, the nearby port of Amalfi, and several motifs of nature in the spring. He admired the seasonal changes in spring and autumn, the infinity of nature and transformation of shapes in the evening and at night. The picture is colourful, painted with dynamic vibrant strokes and full of various tints. In the picture, you can admire the impressionist style of painting even when looking at the grey pavement.
