Technique:oil

Domscheit painted this picture in his final years, when he lived in Cape Town in South Africa. The range of contrasting green and red tones exudes the African heat. The Expressionist spirit of this skilfully painted landscape is intertwined with Cézanne’s quest for rational composition and fluid form. The picture has no tension or drama: the serene view of nature, tired from the intense heat, is expressed by artistic devices.
