Considering the motif, this is probably a German landscape painted when visiting Germany (although it could also be a small town in northern Lithuania). The study reflects the very vivid transformations in V. Didžiokas’ painting: the picture is painted in a more ornamental style and has its own characteristic uniform colouring, chromatic sensitivity and firm composition. The chosen atypical observation point helps express the mood of the motif and the author’s feelings. Playful and rhythmical contrasts of light and shadow produce a live picture.
