B. Murinas earned fame as a watercolourist, and matured mostly under the influence of A. Galdikas and K. Sklėrius. He used the new, semi-wet technique of painting, which caused surprise with its virtuoso gracefulness. His work was influenced sometimes by Post-Impressionism, and sometimes by the spirit of Abstract Expressionism. At the end of the 1960s, he began to use acrylic dyes. When painting in oils and acrylic, he focused on the expressiveness, diversity and harmony of colour, and even came closer to the style of the Paris school.
