In most of his landscapes, B. Jamontt repeated the same motifs. He especially liked old trees. The skilfully painted romantic Landscape with trees repeats the composition (painted by him many times using various techniques) of old trees in the foreground and the attractive horizon in the background of the picture. Striking contrasts of light and shadow, the cloudy sky, the restless rhythm of the branches and leaves make the landscape dramatic, and he complements it with the romantic mood of the nature, beaming with its primeval force.
