A length of rusty wire and an old part of a thrown-away technical appliance, appearing against the background of a quiet, flat landscape, arouse neither disgust nor dramatic feelings, but only sorrow about the littered environment, or a touch of nostalgia for the past. The painter does not aspire to truthfulness in the object painted: it is sometimes even difficult to tell what exactly is portrayed, for it is not a specific technical object, but rather a symbol that is important to the artist.
