This landscape is from the artist’s early period, focusing on the sky and the cool spatial bluish tones dominant in the colouring. The freshness of the spring air and the radiance of the blossom create a light and hopeful mood. The artist is associated with Impressionism because of his studies of light and the increasingly changing spirit of nature, and because of the Impressionist style of his painting.
