Storks

This landscape, expressing a limpid poetic mood, reflects perfectly the painter’s romantic spirit. The simple view of reeds and storks, enlarged and shown in the foreground, painted against the light in sensitive and rhythmically ascending lines, strengthens the impression of the huge space opening up far away in the background. This is one of Kosciuška’s best works.
