Series ‘Vilnius in Ignacy Pinkas’ Colour Autolithographs’, 1929.
Pinkas’ book consists of views seen from Gediminas and Bekešas hills, famous places such as the Gates of Dawn, the Cathedral, the Bernardine Church and St Anne’s Church, and the picturesque lanes of the Old Town. The subject matter, basking in bright sunlight, is merry, full of summer colours, bursting with yellow, orange and blue. The book differs from other works about Vilnius by its cheerful mood: it is a salutation to the Old Town.
