Rimša liked to paint the jungle, despite the manydangers lurking there. He was drawn by the rich vegetation, its mysterious shadows, and the abundance of shades of deep green colours. Lush verdure aroused his memories of Lithuania. This picture is a skilfully painted modern stylisation. Rimša rarely painted pure landscapes. Usually, they were inhabited by people engaged in some activity, since the harmony between man and nature was important to him. The picture is skilfully painted in a modern manner, and the shapes are generalised.
