The nature of Capri has always mesmerised writers, poets, musicians, artistic directors and painters. One of the first admirers of the island was the Roman Emperor Tiber, who spent his last years of life there and left his imprint on the island’s landscape: the ruins of the huge villa Jovis, the Tiber Scarp and the Tiber Road from which opens a wonderful view of the sea in the direction of the Sorrento peninsula. J. Mackevičius managed to reproduce the romantic mood in that view.
