In 1934 Tadeusz Malicki made a mirror-image aquatint of Stiklių Street. The work shows a quiet side street, with harmonious and gracefully curved architectural forms: the eaves of the roof, and the semi-circular arch. The uneven and flaking walls, the roofs covered with old tiles, and the worn-out pavement all express decay, and awaken a certain feeling of nostalgia. This is another romantic elegy to Vilnius, characteristic of Polish interwar art, which conceals one important aspect: there are no signs that it is the Jewish quarter.
